# Access

> Three ways into your company: a person in control, the AI Admin in Slack, and an API key.

## People in control

Everyone you invite under **Settings → Members** can use control. Two things are reserved for **admins**: creating and revoking API keys, and setting up the AI Admin. Both exist because each hands out a key to the whole company.

## The AI Admin in Slack

Your AI Admin is a worker that works only for your team and holds its own API key. That is what lets it create workers, map channels, add clients and connect tools from a conversation. It can never be put in front of a client, and it asks before every change. See [Meet your AI Admin](https://www.ergoly.ai/docs/getting-started/ai-admin).

## API keys

A key reaches everything your company owns, read and write. There is no narrower key. To create one:

1. Open **Settings**, then the **API keys** tab, and press **Create key**.
2. Give it a **Name** (the placeholder suggests *deploy-pipeline*) and an **Expiry**: never, 30 days, 90 days, or a year.
3. Copy it. Control says *This is the only time it is shown*, and means it.

The list shows each key as **Yours**, **A worker's**, or **System-managed**, and any of them can be revoked. Revoking takes effect from the next request. What a key did before that is in the [activity feed](https://www.ergoly.ai/docs/work/approvals).

> **Worth knowing.** A key is not a person. Everything it writes is recorded under the key's own name, so give each job its own key and an expiry if the job has an end.
