# Teams

> Three kinds of team: your own, a client, and a vendor. Each holds different things.

A team on the chart is one of three kinds, and the kind decides what can sit inside it.

- **Team**: A team of your own. Holds people, workers, open roles, and other teams. Created from **Add → Team** with a name and a colour.
- **Client**: A company you work for. Nothing is placed inside it; the cards in its box are the people you have linked to that client. Created from **Add → Client**, from the Clients page, or by asking the AI Admin.
- **Vendor**: An outside company that works for you. Holds people only. Created from **Add → Vendor** with a name, a website (its logo comes from there), what they do, and who it reports to.

## What a client's box does

Adding a person to a client's box is how you tell Ergoly that this person belongs to that client. From then on, their direct messages with any worker serving that client go to that client's copy of the worker. The sheet says so: *Priya's DMs with Nora will go to Acme.* If no worker serves the client yet, you are asked to assign one first. See [Assigning a worker](https://www.ergoly.ai/docs/clients/assigning-a-worker).

## Archiving

A team or vendor can be archived from its sheet, after a confirm. Its members go back to the tray. A client is not archived here; its own page handles that.

> **Worth knowing.** A team can be converted to a person when it has exactly one seat and nothing else, and a worker can be converted to a team. Both are on the card's sheet.
