# Access

> Who can talk to a worker, and which clients it serves. Set on the Clients tab.

Ergoly Docs › Workers. Web: https://www.ergoly.ai/docs/workers/access · Index: https://www.ergoly.ai/docs/llms.txt

A worker's access is three lists: the **clients** it serves, the **channels** it answers in, and the **people** whose direct messages belong to a client. All three are on the worker's **Clients** tab, in one table with the caption *Where messages to this Worker go: a client, or your own team (internal)*.

## Who can talk to it

| Person | In a client's channel | By direct message |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Someone at your agency | Answered by that client's copy | Answered by your team's copy, which knows every client |
| A client's contact, linked to that client | Answered by that client's copy | Answered by that client's copy |
| A guest, or someone from another workspace not linked to a client | Answered by that client's copy, in that client's channel only | Told it cannot help: *I only work with people from the organization that set me up.* |

## Adding a client

Press **Add to client**. Pick the **Client**, then tick **Channels** and **People**. As the dialog says, *channels route by conversation, people route their DMs and group DMs*. A channel or person already linked to another client is greyed out: nothing is moved silently. See [Assigning a worker](https://www.ergoly.ai/docs/clients/assigning-a-worker).

## Channels

Each channel row can be **Mark internal**, **Reassign** to another client, or removed. **Add channel** lists channels the worker can see that are not set up yet: public ones it can **Join**, private ones you invite it to first with `/invite`. Details under [Channels](https://www.ergoly.ai/docs/workers/channels).

> **Worth knowing.** A worker marked internal-only has no Add to client button. Its tab says: *This is an internal-only worker: it can never be put in front of a client. It works in DMs and internal channels only.* Your AI Admin is one.
