# Internal channels

> Your team's own channels. The worker answers from everything it knows, including every client.

Ergoly Docs › Workers. Web: https://www.ergoly.ai/docs/workers/channels/slack/internal-channels · Index: https://www.ergoly.ai/docs/llms.txt

An **internal channel** is one that belongs to your team rather than to a client. The copy of the worker that answers there holds every client's memory, so your own people can ask it about any account: *what's open for Acme*, *draft Globex's renewal note*.

## Marking a channel internal

- When the worker joins and asks, press **Internal channel**.
- On the worker's **Clients** tab, press **Mark internal** on a channel row, or use **Add channel** and choose Internal.
- Ask your AI Admin: *make #ops an internal channel for Nora*.

A channel with no setting at all is not internal. It is unassigned, and the worker tells anyone who mentions it there that it is not set up yet.

## Who is answered

In an internal channel the worker answers your workspace's members. A guest in an internal channel is answered too, because the channel decides, so keep client contacts out of internal channels unless you mean them to be there.

> **Worth knowing.** The channel your team uses to review a worker's drafts for one client is a special case: it is internal, but the drafts are about one client. See [Internal client channels](https://www.ergoly.ai/docs/clients/internal-channels).
