# Responsibilities

> The list of what a worker is trained for and accountable for. Requests outside the list are outside its job.

Ergoly Docs › Workers. Web: https://www.ergoly.ai/docs/workers/responsibilities · Index: https://www.ergoly.ai/docs/llms.txt

A worker's **responsibilities** are an enumerated list: the high-order things it is trained and proven capable of, and responsible for in its role. Once the list is saved, the worker treats a request that is not on it as outside its job, and says so.

## The cards

On the worker's **Overview** tab, the first two cards are **Responsibilities** and **Out of scope**. Both come from one file in the worker's memory. A pencil icon opens an editor with **Write** and **Preview**; press **Save** and it reaches the worker on its next turn. If the worker edited the file while you had it open, control says so and offers **Reload**.

## Drafted for you

When you create a worker, the wizard drafts a responsibilities list from the job title and your company chart. Edit it before you continue. If a worker's list is still empty, control can show a **Proposed responsibilities** card built from what the worker does today, with **Save as the list** and **Reject**.

## How the list changes

You can edit it any time. The worker can also propose a change, in Slack, when it learns something about its job. It makes the change only after your explicit yes, and records a dated line under *Changes* in the file saying what changed and who agreed.

```slack
#acme-internal
Sam: @Nora from now on you also own the monthly client health report.
Nora (worker): I can add that. Proposed line for my responsibilities: Prepare the monthly client health report for each retainer client. Shall I add it?
Sam: Yes.
Nora (worker): Added, with a note that Sam agreed on the 22nd.
```

> **Worth knowing.** The AI Admin's responsibilities are kept by Ergoly and are not edited here.
