Workers
View as MarkdownTriaging
When a worker is slow, silent or stuck: what the Triage tab shows, and the three buttons that fix most things.
The Triage tab answers two questions: is the worker awake, and what has it been saying.
- Runtime
- One row per context (Internal and each client): awake or sleeping, last activity, last wake, and recent time-to-first-reply. A sleeping worker is normal. It sleeps after a few idle minutes and wakes on the next message in seconds.
- Turns
- Recent conversations grouped by Slack thread. Click one to read it; Load older turns goes back further; a copy action gives you the thread as Markdown.
The fixes, least invasive first
- Stop. Send the word
stopin the thread, or@worker stop. Only the person whose message started the work can stop it; anyone at your agency can stop a scheduled run. - Restart Worker, on the Triage tab. It does the least invasive thing that applies: clears a stuck reply, re-activates, or relaunches. It may interrupt a reply in progress.
- Unquarantine, in the banner at the top of the page. Ergoly quarantines a worker after repeated failures and says why. Read the reason, then press the button.
The danger zone
At the bottom of Settings: Stop pauses the worker; Restart brings a stopped or failed one back; Re-install / update scopes re-runs the Slack install so new permissions take effect; Delete Worker removes the Slack app, every copy, and all its data, after you type its name.
